Driving is easy in Summit County and the Vail Valley with excellent roads that are nearly always well maintained. If you plan to venture off the major routes, however, a 4 wheel drive vehicle is recommended as the snow plows clear the major roads first! Winter driving conditions can be expected from October through the end of April.
